Football South are passionate about developing high quality Youth coaches all around the region. The New Zealand Football Youth Coaching Pathway is designed for coaches who work with players aged 13-19 years old.
Youth Level 1 Coaching Award (4 Hours)
The Youth Level 1 award aims to develop the coaches knowledge and understanding of developing Youth players, through creating a high quality experience for young footballers. The course is split into four parts; Meeting Youth Player Needs, The Playing Environment, Dealing with Difference and Practical Demonstration.
The Youth Level 1 award is suitable for coaches within Community/Social Youth grades, who want to develop their ability to understand and lead Youth football sessions.
Youth Level 2 Coaching Award (8 Hours)
The NZF Youth Level 2 Coaching Award presents coaches working with players between the ages of 13 and 19 years with information to help provide age appropriate football practices. The course is designed to provide coaches with a clear idea of how to design appropriate practices and how these can be used to aid player development.
The Youth Level 2 award is suitable for coaches within Talent Development Programs, who want to develop and lead and assist talent player development sessions.
NZF/OFC ‘C’ License Youth (6 days)
The NZF/OFC ‘C’ License Youth is an Advanced award, aimed at developing coaches that are working with talented players aged 13-19 years. This course has been developed from researching best practice methods from all over the world and is based on the ‘The Professional Coaching Model’, an approach that is structured to promote high level learning and allow coaches to design season long programmes to help their players solve football problems.
The NZF/OFC ‘C’ License Youth is a requirement for Talent Centre Head Coaches.
