New Zealand Football is calling on all football members to have their say about their experience in the game in this country and you could win a prize for yourself or your club by doing so.
Every year the governing body teams up with Sport New Zealand for a key research project on understanding how players view their football experience with their club.
New Zealand Football has seven club packs worth $1,000 each up for grabs for the club in each federation that has the highest percentage of players complete the survey. There are also seven $50 Rebel Sport vouchers on offer for players with one winner randomly drawn from each federation.
The project is called the ‘Voice of Participant (VoP)’ and aims to understand what is important to players in the club environment and how the football system could improve your playing experience.
A random sample of players will be selected across the country to represent the views of club members. Club members will receive an email inviting them to participate in the survey in the next few weeks. This email invitation will come from Nielsen and will contain a link to the Nielsen survey.
Nielsen, an independent research company, is carrying out this confidential survey on behalf of Sport New Zealand and New Zealand Football. Results will be reported in a way that will not allow individuals to be identified.
New Zealand Football Chief Executive Andrew Pragnell says the findings of the Voice of Participant survey are important for the game and how it is run.
“These results will provide guidance to New Zealand Football, federations and clubs to improve the experience their members have,” he says.
“It’s important that as many players and parents as possible complete the survey to help us get this information from our members and shape the delivery of the game going forward.”
New Zealand Football have had high levels of response in recent years of the VoP. In 2017, there were 8,937 responses received which was an 11 per cent response rate - the highest across all national sporting organisations.
The 2019 edition will be the fifth year in a row that the VoP has been completed. This allows New Zealand Football the ability to benchmark against the results from previous years and evidence improvement across a number of key metrics identified by Sport NZ as being important in terms of satisfaction and experience.
The Voice of Participant survey takes only 10 minutes to complete and closes on 4 August.
