Referee Development Academy - Coach


Football South is seeking to appoint Referee Development Academy Coaches to support the development of the Football South Referee Development Academy (FS RDA) for the 2019 season.

 

The FS RDA Coach position(s) reports directly to the FS RDM and is responsible for the development of either:

 Referees who have applied for promotion through the NZF pathway.

 Assistant Referees who have applied for promotion through the NZF pathway.

 Futsal Referees who have applied for promotion through the NZF pathway.

 Referees in the development group.

 

Key Responsibilities

 Review the self-assessments sent by each FS RDA Referee and provide further feedback as required.

 Review match official’s performance in collaboration with the FS RDM.

 Arrange events for FS RDA Officials to update the referees on the expectations of the leagues, clubs, Football South and NZF.

 Regularly update the FS RDM of referees suitable for advancement into the promotion pathway.

 Encourage the FS RDA Officials to attend both local branch / society meetings and Football South delivered In-Service Training events.

 Provide advice to all members of the FS RDA regarding lifestyle matters such as fitness and nutrition.

 Co-operate with the FS RDM to help deliver in-service training events for all FS RDA Referees.

 Attend meetings of the FS Referee Development Working Groups when required.

 Advise the FS RDM of Officials who should be removed from the FS RDA scheme for reasons of performance and/or attitude, including items covered in the FS RDA Agreements and assist with the disciplinary procedures.

 Provide monitoring and evaluation information as agreed with the FS RDM

 The role will require an individual who has excellent administration skills, experience of working as part of a team to achieve success and the ability to work flexibly and remotely.

 

Essential Requirements

 Achieved satisfactory Level in accordance to the appropriate Coach position (see above).

 Credibility as a Match Official.

 Ability to plan, organise and assist with the delivery of key events for FS RDA Match Officials.

 Available if required to travel to occasional matches on Saturday / Sunday / midweek and/or evenings.

 

Desirable Requirements

 Experience of FIFA, National League and/or Regional League football as an assistant Referee or Referee.

 NZF qualified assessor, NZF qualified instructor, NZF qualified mentor, NZF qualified referee Coach.

 Able to communicate effectively.

 

Further Information

An honorarium payment shall be made to the successful candidate, with agreed payments made accordingly. Although it is anticipated to be an ongoing role, the initial appointment will be until the 2019 season.

The FS RDA Coach will report directly to the FS RDM and be an integral part of the Referee Development Team.
