
NZ Football’s Youth Football Development Manager ANDY BOYENS will deliver a FREE Coaching Workshop in Dunedin this coming Monday May 22nd from 19:30 – 21:00 at the Sargood Centre, Logan Park Drive
Former All Whites defender and current NZF ‘Youth Football Development Manager’ – Andy Boyens, will deliver a Coaching Workshop on Monday, May 22nd at the Sargood Centre (7.30 – 9pm).
Boyens, who joined NZF in January 2015 leads the Talent Development space through the FTC, NTC and NAGT programmes and tournaments. Andy has accumulated a wealth of knowledge and experience in both a coaching and playing capacity having played professionally in the MLS with Toronto FC, New York Redbulls, USA Chivas and LA Galaxy. In addition to his club career Andy amassed 19 international caps for New Zealand and was a member of the All Whites squad which contested the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
Andy also has an affinity to Dunedin as he lived in the region as a youth and played with Dunedin Technical AFC as well travelling with the FOYDAT squad to Argentina and Chile under the tutelage of Neil McKenzie in 2001.
This workshop will be an excellent development and education opportunity for all aspiring coaches in the Federation, it will be a combination of a classroom based discussion (7.30 – 7.50pm) and then a pitch based training session where coaches will get an opportunity to observe Andy putting some local Youth development players through a 60min training session. This will be a great insight and opportunity to discuss and observe Andy implementing his coaching philosophy and methods and attending coaches will have an excellent opportunity to take away some ideas and knowledge that will assist them in their environment.
This workshop is open to all coaches in the Football South Federation and will be delivered FREE of charge.
