ODT Women's Southern Championship
Mosgiel v Dunedin Tech
In their last ever match before their amalgamation, Dunedin Tech continued their dominance in the ODT Women’s Southern Premiership going out on a high with a 7-0 victory over Mosgiel. The scoring was opened within the first five minutes and Tech were 3-0 up by the fifteen-minute mark. The Mosgiel defence battled valiantly but conceded another before the break to see Tech establish a 4-0 lead. The best of their first half efforts was a header from Ruby Anderson that came as a result of a sweeping run and cross from Tahlia Roome.
Mosgiel have had a strong season showing great development over the course of the campaign and coach Malcolm Roberts, his assistant Karlin Dungey and their squad should be proud of their achievements. They were tenacious in the second half fighting to keep Tech’s attack at bay, but the strong wind was a constant thwart to restricting Tech’s opportunities. Tech never stopped pushing for further goals and were rewarded with 3 more in the second half. Their last effort was a Shonny Smith 35 yard free kick giving Mosgiel’s goalkeeper and player of the day Morgan Whitson no chance. The 7-0 scoreline is reflective of the strength of Dunedin Tech over the past nine seasons in which they have secured the title consecutively. Head Coach Craig Johnson, Assistant Coach Rik Wilson and the entire squad should be incredible proud of their achievements in maroon.

Anderson equalised for the home side with 3 minutes left with a delicate lob over the keeper, however Nelson scored a penalty in injury time with substitute Jordan Yong emphatically blasting home and Yong stunned the home crowd with his second in the 4th minute of added time to secure their first win in a hard fought 4-2 victory.
