Football South is one of New Zealand Footballs seven member federations. As a federation Football South is responsible for promoting, developing, enhancing and protecting football in the lower South Island including the regions of South Canterbury/North Otago, Otago, Central Otago and Southland.
Our aim is to enable as many people as possible to become involved and have a positive experience in this great sport and allow everyone to reach their full potential whether it be as a player, coach, referee or volunteer.
Over the last few years football has become the most popular team sport for children within the age bracket of 5-18 (Sport NZ, 2012) and throughout our Federation football is played by over 8900 Winter Football players, and almost 6500 Futsal players.
There are footballers of all shapes and sizes playing the game for a variety of reasons and we want to enable everyone to find their place within the game.
