A warm "deep south" welcome to the Referees' section of the Footballsouth web site.
Footballsouth comprises referees from the four regions in the southern part of the South Island: South Canterbury, Otago, Central Otago and Southland.
Referees are spread across the federation with 44 per cent based in Dunedin, 29 per cent in South Canterbury, 15 per cent in Southland, and 12 per cent in Central Otago. Ages range from 16 through to 67, and both men and women are represented.
In this section of the web site you will find information on how to become a referee, the development pathway for referees, information on the Laws of the Game, courses available, forms used by referees, and appointments to games.
There is absolutely no pressure on anyone to become a referee - you are welcome to take a course even if you just want to know more about the Laws of the Game, or you just want to referee junior, school or social football.
We would love you to join us and become part of the community of football. Welcome.
