The Footballsouth Coaches Awards is an annual event where the efforts of Junior (U12 yrs) and Youth (U19 yrs) coaches from throughout the Footballsouth region get recognised and appriciated.
The inaugural event took place last year and the 2009 Coaches Awards were presented on Sunday 18 October 2009 at the Kingsgate Hotel in Dunedin.
Here follows a list of 2009 recipients for the various Awards;
- Male Junior/Youth Club Coach of the year 2009 - Nigel Benn (Roslyn Wakari, Dunedin)
- Female Junior/Youth Club Coach of the year 2009 - Davina Stoddard(Maori Hill, Dunedin)
- Junior/Youth Club Goalkeeper Coach of the year 2009 - Wayne Mansfield, (Green Island, Dunedin)
- Representative Team Coach of the year 2009 - Chris Pike(Otago 12th Boys)
- Federation Coach of the Year 2009 - Darren Rewi (Fed. 16th Girls/National Women's)
- Young (U20 yrs) Junior/Youth Club Coach of the year 2009 - Josh Hay (Waitaki Boys HS, Oamaru)
- New (1st year) Junior/Youth Coach of the year 2009 - Eddie Davis-Rae (Maori Hill, Dunedin)
- Overall Junior/Youth Coach of the year 2009 - Peter Wiliamson (Maori Hill, Dunedin)
- Most Supportive Junior/Youth Club of the year 2009 - Grants Braes AFC, Dunedin
- Lifetime Junior/Youth Coach Achievement Award 2009 - Alan Laidler(Grants Braes AFC, Dunedin)
- Coach Coordinator of the year 2009 - Richard Kinley (Mornington, Dunedin)
- Coach Educator of the year 2009 - Andy Lane (Waitaki Boys HS, Oamaru)
